Foreign Minister: Riyadh's Hosting of the Three Summits Confirms the Common Determination Towards Strengthening Distinguished Relations

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed that the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to His Excellency President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom, to visit the Kingdom during the period (7-9) December 2022, to hold a summit (Riyadh Gulf-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and Development) and ( Riyadh Arab-Chinese Summit for Cooperation and development) With the participation of Their Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Arab countries, it comes to confirm the determination of the Kingdom, China and our brothers in our Gulf and Arab region towards strengthening joint action and developing distinguished strategic relations between our countries, in order to achieve more growth and prosperity for our peoples and countries.

His Highness the Foreign Minister said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that relations between the Kingdom and China are strategic and solid in light of the developments and changes taking place in the international arena, pointing out that relations between the two countries are characterized by friendship, mutual trust, cooperation, and continuous coordination, noting the contribution of the Saudi-Chinese High-Level Joint Committee to the development of relations between the two countries in many fields.

His Highness explained that the economic relations between the Kingdom and China are taking rapid steps in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the Belt and Road Initiative, which offer promising opportunities for cooperation, mutual benefit, and sustainable development, noting that China occupies the first place as a trading partner of the Kingdom, and the first place as a destination for Saudi exports and imports since 2018, pointing out that the volume of intra-trade amounted to 309 billion riyals in 2021, up 39% from 2020.​At the end of his statement, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the Kingdom looks forward to working with the friendly Republic of China and our brothers in the Gulf countries and Arab countries through the three summits hosted by the capital Riyadh to intensify cooperation in the political, economic, social and development fields, in order to achieve the aspirations of our countries and peoples towards more security, stability, well-being, and prosperity for all.
