His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated today in the second session of the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in the capital of the Republic of India, New Delhi.
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered a speech at the second session of the meeting, which came under the title "Counter Terrorism, Global Skill Mapping and Talent Pool, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief " and His Highness stressed at the beginning of his speech that the Kingdom is a leader in many valuable initiatives, such as the establishment of the Global Centre for Combating Extremism (Etidal).
His Highness the Foreign Minister explained that a partnership has been concluded with many countries on bilateral and regional bases to improve the exchange of information related to counter-terrorism activities, indicating that the Kingdom is a member of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to combat money laundering, combat the financing of terrorism and limit its spread, and the Kingdom is a member of the Global Coalition to Eliminate ISIS.
His Highness stressed that combating terrorism also requires dealing with cybercrime through international cooperation and effective legislation.
His Highness explained that the Kingdom has adopted many local initiatives within the framework of the National Cybersecurity Authority, including the protection of children in cyberspace and the empowerment of women in the field of cybersecurity.
Regarding the issue of skills mapping and strengthening the talent pool, His Highness stressed that the Kingdom has implemented reforms that seek to harness young talents, while meeting the evolving needs of the labor market, noting that the Kingdom has launched a national program for human resources development as part of Vision 2030, which makes citizens better equipped to deal with future challenges.
His Highness stressed that the Kingdom remains a leader in providing humanitarian and development assistance around the world, noting the Kingdom's rapid response to the recent earthquake in Syria and Türkiye, and the Kingdom's operation of an urgent humanitarian air bridge, and the organization of a national donations campaign to mitigate the effects of the earthquake.
His Highness added that the Kingdom recently hosted the third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum in cooperation with the United Nations, which discussed ways to enhance collective efforts in this vital sector, such as partnerships, assessments, Emiratisation and achieving the sustainable development goals.
At the end of his speech, His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed the importance of collective action and the development of appropriate plans for early response using innovative solutions and modern technologies to ensure a safer and more prosperity world for humanity.
