The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome for the Australian Government's announcement to rescind its recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
The Ministry expresses the Kingdom's aspiration for the international community to combine efforts to find a just settlement of the Palestinian issue to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the Kingdom's firm position towards the brotherly Palestinian people and its permanent support for its options.
