His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in the Qatari capital, Doha, with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.
During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral relations and aspects of joint cooperation, as well as ways to enhance them in line with the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries.
Following the meeting, His Highness the Foreign Minister and His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar co-chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. At the outset, they reviewed the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and explored mechanisms to further develop them bilaterally and multilaterally on the international stage, within the framework of the Council’s work. They also discussed several initiatives aimed at deepening and enhancing cooperation and elevating bilateral relations to broader horizons.
The Secretariat of the Executive Committee presented an overview of the Council’s work and the activities of its subsidiary committees over the recent period, in addition to developments and preparations for the upcoming eighth session of the Council.
The Committee also reviewed the progress made by the subsidiary committees and the initiatives launched during the Council’s seventh meeting, which was held in Doha on 5 December 2023 . Both sides commended the ongoing collaboration and coordination among the Council’s committees and working groups, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this momentum to achieve shared qualitative interests for both nations and their peoples.
Concluding the meeting, His Highness the Foreign Minister and His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar signed the minutes of the Executive Committee meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Deputy Minister for Political Affairs; His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’a Ambassador to the State of Qatar; H.E. Mr. Waleed Al-Ismail, Director General of the Office of HH the Foreign Minister; and Eng. Fahad Alharthi, Director General of the General Administration of Secretariats of Councils and Committees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
