H.E. Adel Al Jubeir, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers and Envoy for Climate, met with the Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, during his official visit to the Kingdom of Belgium.
During the meeting, environmental issues and climate change were discussed in light of the outcomes of the COP27 conference and the international efforts made in this field, including what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is offering through the "Middle East Green" and "Saudi Green" initiatives, which actively contribute to supporting regional and international cooperation to confront climate change.
They also discussed aspects of enhancing and developing joint cooperation between the Kingdom and the European Union in the field of preserving the environment and combating climate change.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the European Union, Saad Mohammed Alarify, and His Excellency the Director General of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Office and member of the Council of Ministers, Ambassador Khalid bin Musaed Al-Anqari.
