At the outset of the ceremony, verses of the Holy Quran were recited. Then, Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and conveyed to the audience the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Prince Abdulaziz said that a movement of translation has been linked to human beings at different stages and the translation allowed peoples, nations and groups to brief on what other people created in the fields of science, literature and arts. 'When King Abdulaziz Public Library implemented directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of this international, civilizational and cultural award, this global award responds to the existing civilizational need. This prize achieved a great success in a few years and related to historical initiatives for dialogue among followers of religions and cultures, including King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna,' Prince Abdulaziz said. Prince Abdulaziz stressed that this prize delivered a clear message from the state of the Two Holy Mosques under the wise leadership that Islam encourages and supports positive dialogue and cooperation, away from the defamation of religions, domination or attempts to blur the identity of civilizations and cultures. 'The award highlighted mutual understanding between the peoples of the world, coexistence among them, and cooperation in various fields,' Prince Abdulaziz added. Prince Abdulaziz expressed congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his patronage of this award, congratulating winners of the award. Then, Dr. Saeed bin Fayez Al-Saeed, Secretary General of the prize, announced the winners of the prize. The winner of the translation award for institutions is Arab Center for Arabization, Translation, Authorship and Publication. The prize in the field of Natural Sciences from Arab language into other languages is withheld. The winners of the translation award from other languages into Arab Language are Reem Mohammad Al-Towairqi for her translation from English into Arabic of the book: â€œHow Things Work: The Physics of Everyday Lifeâ€ and Dr. Abdulanser Salah Ibrahim and Dr. Ali Abdullah Al-Salama for their translation from English into Arabic the book of Michael Wilson: 'Bacteriology of Humans: An Ecological Perspective'. The award in the field of Humanities Sciences from other Languages into Arabic is jointly given to Dr. Salwa Suleiman Naqli for her translation of Peter Stockwell's book: 'Cognitive Poetics: An Introduction' from English into Arabic and Ms. Rasha Saad Zaki for her translation of Thomas Sowell's book: 'Applied Economics' from English into Arabic. The award in the field of Humanities Sciences is given to Dr. Cecilia Martini for her translation of the book: 'Al-Farabi: Philosophy of Plato and Aristotle' from Arabic into Italian. The translation prize for efforts in translation for individuals is jointly awarded to Dr. Joao Baptista de Medeiros Vargens and Dr. Luis Miguel Perez Canida. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials.
