US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, received at the State Department headquarters in Washington today Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and accompanying delegation.
The two sides held an all-round discussions on bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, in addition to overall regional and international issues. Al-Jubeir told reporters, "There is no blockade of Qatar…the ports are open.. the airports are open" adding, "Saudi Arabia has denied Qatari airways or Qatari-owned aircrafts the use of its airspace, and denied Qatari ships and vessels the use of its territorial waters. As such Saudi Arabia is exercising its sovereign right". Al-Jubeir explained that Saudi Arabia is prepared to provide Qatar with food and medical supplies, should they need that.

The reception was attended by Acting Charge d'affairs at the Saudi Embassy in the United States, Sami Al-Sadhan.​​
