His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs and the chairman of the current session of Ministerial Council of Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) expressed, on behalf of GCC Foreign Ministers, his thanks to Luxemburg for hosting the EU-GCC Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting.

In a press statement, His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Faisal explained that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, shed light on the results of this important meeting, which comes within the framework of continuing dialogue between the two groups.

With regard to the political issues, His Royal Highness Prince Saud Al-Faisal said: "The issue of the Syrian crisis, which came at the top of our deliberations, was an inevitable result of the continuation of the heinous humanitarian crimes and devastating killing machine used by the Syrian regime against its own people".
